Dig deep into integral forging, and find out just how far down the rabbit hole you can go. Our focus is on integral chef knives, complex handle construction, fit and design.
Students will forge a blade out of 1080 and go through layout and machining for a bolt tang construction.
We will do curved joints between the bolster and handle along with learning how to do a consistent heirloom fit. Blade geometry and compound grinds will be covered as well.
This is an intermediate to advanced class, ideally already acquainted with basic hidden tang integrals and ready for higher quality, efficiency, and elaboration.
