Ethan Rice has operated Taylor Brook Forge full-time for two years, where he focuses on transforming steel into both art and functional utility. His journey began right here at the New England School of Metalwork, where he laid his foundation for his craft. Today, as a blacksmith and bladesmith, Ethan’s work encompasses a wide range of metalwork—from high-quality everyday household items, custom hand tools, and edged items to fine artistic works.

Deepening his connection to the craft’s roots, Ethan also serves as a Resident Smith at the historic Watkins Blacksmith Shop at the Raymond-Casco Historical Society, which dates back to the mid 19th century. By pairing time-tested traditional methods with modern innovation, Ethan focuses on creating honest, handcrafted ironwork designed for real-world use in the modern age with an old-world twist.
