In this brand new weekend bladesmithing workshop, students will cover all the very foundational skills of knifemaking! Students will create their very own full tang, fixed blade knife.
This two day workshop will begin with a morning discussion on the course, and swiftly move into firing up a propane forge and covering the aspects of forging a 1084 high carbon steel blade on the anvil. Discussing and practicing the metallurgical aspects of making hand forged blades, grinding and sharpening knives, and finishing by mounting and carving a sturdy micarta handle.
This class will be focused on how to start bladesmithing with basic tools that can be easily obtained for the aspiring hobbyist, or backyard bladesmith!
